MEET the friendly faces of Lola’s deli

Logan Strawderman

Logan is a Bridgewater College graduate (class of 2007), and has been working in professional kitchens and perfecting his culinary skills ever since.

He owned and operated the popular food truck, Rocktown Slops, where he experimented with various spin-offs of Sloppy Joes. The positive feedback and experience of owning his own business led him to work on his next passion project: brining and curing his own meats to perfect his corned beef and pastrami.

He joined forces with Lauren in 2016 to create Lola’s Delicatessen, and the rest is history.

Lauren Penrod

A JMU alum (class of 2003—she took 5 1/2 years to graduate, but at least she finished what she started!), Lauren is co-owner of Lola’s Deli and has also owns and runs Midtowne Market, a downtown convenience store and craft beer shop, since 2010.

Lauren grew up in Connecticut, in the suburbs of NYC, and has fond memories of visiting the city and all its’ delights and weirdness as a little girl.

She loves sandwiches.
